We Did Not Write To FG To Block Kwankwaso’s Entry In Kano’ – Yusuf’s Govt
The Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has dismissed claims of writing to the Federal Government to prevent the leader of the Kwankwasiyi movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, from entering the state.
Naija News reports that Yusuf, in a statement on Thursday through the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, described the allegation, made by New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) chieftain, Buba Galadima, as false and malicious.
Abdullahi stated that the claim of preventing Kwankwason’s entry into Kano was an attempt to mislead the public and create political tension in the state.
The statement said, “At no time did the Kano State Government write to the Federal Government or any authority to prevent Senator Kwankwaso, or any Nigerian citizen, from entering Kano State.”
According to Abdullahi, Kano remains a peaceful state where the constitutional rights of citizens, including freedom of movement and association, are respected.
He maintained that the administration of Governor Yusuf is focused on governance and improving the welfare of the people, not on unnecessary political distractions.
The statement also criticised those spreading the claim, saying it is unfortunate that some individuals prefer to make baseless allegations rather than engage in constructive political discourse.
The Kano state government further called on Galadima to either provide proof to support his claim or withdraw the statement in the interest of peace.
The statement added, “Dragging the Federal Government into local political narratives without evidence is irresponsible and unacceptable.
“Public figures must understand the weight of their words and the consequences of misinformation.”
