The Way I look at Wike, even Tinubu is not safe when it comes to politics and his interest-Dr Modibo

According to a report by Arise News on Saturday, January 10, 2026, the political crisis in Rivers State continues to attract national attention as moves to remove Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy intensify public debate.

Political observers have increasingly linked the instability to the influence of former governor and current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, whose political strength is said to extend across both state and federal levels. During an appearance on News Night, political analyst Dr Ibrahim Modibo described Wike as a powerful force whose influence could challenge even the highest political authorities.

Dr Modibo stated, “The way I look at Wike, even Tinubu is not safe; he can torpedo Tinubu under any circumstances when it comes to politics and his interest.” He explained that Wike’s strength lies in his ability to mobilize grassroots support and maintain a strong political structure.

He further linked Wike’s influence to the ongoing push to impeach Governor Fubara, suggesting that allegations of financial mismanagement are often driven by personal and political interests rather than genuine governance concerns.

Dr Modibo warned that unchecked political power could weaken party structures, threaten democratic values, and destabilize Nigeria’s political balance, calling for firm action to ensure governance remains the priority.
