Stop Condemning Nigeria — Billionaire Wale Tinubu Tells Citizens
The Group Chief Executive Officer of Oando Plc, Wale Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to embrace failure as a tool for national development, stressing that societies progress when citizens learn from setbacks instead of constantly condemning their country. Speaking in Lagos, Tinubu said national growth depends on collective belief, resilience, and shared commitment.
“We learn from our failures and we get it right. Stop condemning the country—its success depends on us moving together,” he added, urging citizens to take responsibility for making Nigeria work. He highlighted that fear of failure often prevents people from trying, while repeated attempts are key to achieving breakthroughs.
Tinubu made the remarks shortly after receiving an honorary doctorate in Business from the University of Lagos, in recognition of his contributions to enterprise building, energy sector transformation, and national development. He called for stronger collaboration between public and private sectors, especially in education, health, and social services, and emphasized the importance of alumni engagement in improving educational institutions.
