Rivers Renew Hope Ambassador Describes Wike Leadership as Al Politics

According to report by Vanguard on Saturday, February 7, 2026, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has confidently stated that his political network in Rivers State has the strength and structure to secure overwhelming support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 without relying on the state governor.

Wike made this assertion in Port Harcourt during the commissioning of the Rivers State headquarters of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.

According to him, the coalition he leads commands deep grassroots influence and possesses the organisational capacity needed to mobilise voters across the state independently.

The newly commissioned headquarters features key operational tools, including Majority FM 89.5 radio station, a situation room for strategic coordination, and a fleet of buses designated for mobilisation efforts. Wike described the initiative as evidence of readiness and seriousness ahead of the next general election.

Taking a swipe at the current state leadership, the former Rivers governor explained that the movement cuts across party lines and includes senators, members of the National and State Assemblies, council chairmen, and party executives from both the APC and PDP.

He stressed that genuine political commitment is demonstrated through personal sacrifice and local investment rather than dependence on resources from those being supported.

Wike reiterated that Rivers State remains firmly aligned with President Tinubu, describing the state as a “no-go area” for opposition forces.

He recalled Rivers’ independent political stance during the 2023 elections and maintained that the same determination would be applied in 2027 once the president signals his intention to run again.

Commending the state coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Ambassador Desmond Akawor, Wike praised the successful rollout of coordinators across all 23 local government areas, noting that the mobilisation drive sends a strong message nationwide.

He urged members to intensify grassroots engagement at ward and unit levels to ensure the Renewed Hope agenda reaches every household.

In his remarks, Akawor applauded Wike’s leadership approach, describing it as “AI Politics,” a blend of precision, data-driven planning, and modern technology.

He confirmed that the organisation is fully operational across the state and prepared to sustain momentum ahead of 2027.
