Amaewhule: Ngozi Odu Can Be Your Mother, When She Was Perm Sec, Director, You Were Nobody- Sara Igbe
Chief Anabs Sara Igbe has vehemently criticized the impeachment notice from the Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Martins Amaewhule, against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Professor Ngozi Odu. In an interview, he challenged the inclusion of the deputy governor in the notice, urging the Assembly to clarify any charges against her.
In a video shared by SYMFONI TV, Sara Igbe pointed out that while accusations have been directed at the governor, there are no specific allegations against the deputy governor. He deemed this situation unfair and unacceptable, especially for the people of Rivers State who expect transparency and honesty from their leaders.
He also denounced the disrespectful treatment of Professor Odu by Speaker Amaewhule, reminding him that the deputy governor is an elder and a distinguished public servant who held significant positions in the state long before Amaewhule gained political traction.
Emphasizing that age, experience, and public service merit respect, he asserted that belittling or insulting elders in leadership positions disrespects not only the individuals but also an entire generation.
Sara Igbe cautioned that the people of Rivers will not tolerate actions that seem to demean elders or misuse power.
He stated, “This is a woman who could be your mother, someone who has been in leadership positions long before you. Now that she’s deputy governor, you think you can insult her just because you’re the speaker.”
