South African Singer Tyla Drops Lagos From World Tour Amid Boycott Calls by Nigerians Over Xenophobic Att@cks in South Africa

South African Grammy-winning singer Tyla has removed Lagos from the schedule of her APOP World Tour, days after her planned December 22 concert in Nigeria sparked boycott calls over renewed xenophobic att@cks against Nigerians in South Africa.

The updated tour schedule no longer includes the Lagos stop, while all previously announced dates across Europe, North America and South Africa remain unchanged. The tour is still expected to end with performances in Cape Town.

Lagos was initially announced as the only Nigerian stop on the tour, but its removal comes after widespread backlash on social media.

Many Nigerians had urged a boycott of the concert, arguing that South African artistes should not perform in Nigeria while reports of xenophobic attacks against Nigerians continue. Others, however, insisted that musicians should not be held responsible for political or social issues beyond their control.

Tyla and her management have yet to publicly explain why the Lagos concert was removed from the tour schedule.
