Guys these days don’t want to be simps anymore, they act like divas. If you love your woman, own it — Singer Tyla laments
South African singer Tyla has sparked reactions on social media after sharing her thoughts on modern dating, saying many men today have become “divas” and are no longer comfortable showing affection openly.
Speaking during a lighthearted conversation, Tyla joked that dating has become difficult because of the attitude of many men.
“Guys these days… Divas. Bedazzled divas,” she said, with another speaker agreeing, “They’re divas!”
When asked whether she preferred a nonchalant man or one who openly showed interest, Tyla said she believes the ideal partner should strike a balance.
“There just needs to be a balance. Like, you need to know when to be nonchalant and when to be chalant.”
The discussion then turned to the idea of “simping” in relationships, with Tyla suggesting that many men now avoid showing too much affection because they fear being judged.
“I just think like guys don’t want to be simps anymore. It’s kind of emb@rrassing now.”
However, one of the male speakers proudly admitted he had no problem being a simp, prompting Tyla to encourage men not to hide their feelings.
“Own it. If you love your woman, own it.”
Her comments have since sparked conversations online, with many social media users weighing in on whether modern men have become too emotionally guarded, or, as Tyla jokingly put it, “bedazzled divas.”
