Lady lures friend for her boyfriend to k!ll, harvests body parts

According to a report by Vanguard on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, police in Calabar, Cross River State, have arrested a man identified as Ofofon and his girlfriend over the alleged murder of a young woman who was reportedly lured into their home before being k!lled.

The incident reportedly came to light after residents of Calabar South raised alarm over suspicious movements and unusual activity around the apartment where the suspects lived. According to neighbours, the victim was invited to spend the night at the residence by her friend, who is the girlfriend of the suspect, before the tragic incident occurred.

Concern grew within the community after residents noticed signs of disturbance around the compound the following morning. This prompted them to alert the police, who later arrived at the scene and arrested the two suspects for questioning.

A resident who spoke on condition of anonymity alleged that the killing took place inside the apartment during the night, adding that the discovery of suspicious conditions around the environment further deepened fears among neighbours.

The source also alleged, “some time ago, he tried to use his mother for ritual, and the thing backfired.”

Following the arrest, police authorities confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody on suspicion of murder, while investigations have commenced to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident, including the motive and whether any other persons may have been involved.

Authorities added that further updates would be provided as the investigation progresses, while assuring residents of continued efforts to maintain safety in the area.
