Rivers LG Chairman Denies A§§ault Allegations By His Female Aide Over a Social Media Post

The Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area in Rivers State, Eugene Cheta Epelle, has denied allegations that he a§%aulted Winnie Miller, his female aide, after she shared photos and videos of a dilapidated secondary school in the area.

Responding to the accusation in a video, Epelle insisted he did not arrive at her residence with th¥gs, stating that those with him were his driver, his brother and a few others.

He said, “I never led th¥gs to her house. The people they are calling th¥gs were myself, my driver, my brother, and some others. We were driving towards her house when I coincidentally saw her mother in front of their house. She waved at me and I stopped. She told me they had an acc+dent that day and I sympathized with her.”

Epelle explained that he only asked her mother to tell Miller to remove the social media post. “I then asked her to tell her daughter to bring down the post so it would not look like I am against the Rivers State government. I’m not against her post, but she should have taken permission from me before posting about the issue on her social media page.”

He also claimed Miller is still working with him as his aide. “I am still paying her till today. She is still my aide even till now. She suppose to take order from me before posting thst stuffs.”

According to him, the situation escalated after Miller allegedly used ab¥sive words, which angered his younger brother. “Later on she came back outside and started using ab¥sive words… so that led him to push her cause she was pointing at me.”

He maintained that no one a§§aulted her, adding, “But in the process of pushing her, her teeth bite her lips so that led to how she sustained that inj¥ring thst is circulating online. Nobody b£at her at all.”
