BREAKING: Interrogation Ongoing As Police Confirms Arrest Of Hon. Dickson Agbor

Information reaching our newsroom has it that Hon. Dickson Ovat Agbor, who allegedly beat and got his wife half blind has been arrested by the police.

He was arrested by the Cross River State Command of the Nigeria Police Force, on Monday, March 9, 2026.

confirming the arrest by CrossRiverWatch, the Command Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunday Eitokpah Akata, said the suspect is currently at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) undergoing interrogation.

His arrest comes four days after he was suspended indefinitely pending conclusion of investigation by the Cross River State House of Assembly.

The House’s decision was reached during plenary following a motion moved by Rt. Hon. Davies Etta and seconded by Rt. Hon. Francis Bassey Asuquo.

In the motion, the Assembly strongly condemned the alleged violent behaviour involving Hon. Agbor, describing it as conduct unbecoming of a lawmaker and contrary to the ethical standards expected of members of the legislative arm of government.

After deliberations, the House resolved that Hon. Agbor be placed on indefinite suspension from all legislative activities.
