Wike:He Is A Camera-Hungry Individual Who Thinks FCT Is Turning Into Another Port Harcourt- Epelle
In a recent interview shared by Arise News, the Chief Executive Officer of TAF Africa, Jake Epelle, strongly criticized the conduct of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Speaking during the programme, Epelle expressed concern over what he described as unnecessary political theatrics in the administration of the FCT. According to him, leadership at such a sensitive level requires caution, responsibility, and respect for democratic principles.
Referring directly to the minister, Epelle said, “He is just a camera-hungry individual who thinks the FCT is turning into another Port Harcourt.”
The comment appears to reference the minister’s previous tenure as Governor of Rivers State, where Port Harcourt is the capital. Epelle suggested that the style of governance suitable for a state may not be appropriate for the Federal Capital Territory, which serves as the seat of power and represents the entire nation.
He emphasized that public officials must understand the weight of their offices and avoid actions or statements that could heighten political tension. According to him, the FCT is a symbol of national unity and should be managed with neutrality and maturity.
Epelle further noted that public confidence in governance is already fragile, and leaders must avoid conduct that could deepen mistrust among citizens.
