Gunmen Attack Peter Obi, ADC Leaders in Edo State

Former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, and some leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) were on Tuesday allegedly attacked by suspected thugs in Edo State.

The incident was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja by Peter Obi’s former campaign spokesman and National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, Dr. Yunusa Tanko.

According to Tanko, armed men trailed the convoy of the ADC leaders from the party’s secretariat to the residence of former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.

He alleged that the attackers opened fire at the gate of the residence and damaged several vehicles in the convoy.

Tanko described the incident as an apparent assassination attempt on Peter Obi and members of the ADC team.
