Aiyedatiwa’s Media Team Hit By Sudden Resignations Within 48 Hours

Two Senior media aides to the Ondo state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, have resigned their appointments within the last 48 hours.

The two individuals are the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Multimedia to the Governor, Taiwo Ilesanmi Gbamila and the Special Assistant (SA) on media, Olugbenga Abire.

The duo did not give any official reasons for their decision to resign.

However, Vanguard gathered that many of the governors’ media aides are planning to resign due to alleged poor treatment, lack of funding and their dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs.

It was learnt that the senior media aides would be the first to resign, with others to follow.

Gbamila, in his resignation letter addressed to the governor and copied to the office of the Secretary to Ondo State Government on Monday, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve.

The letter said, “I hereby respectfully tender my resignation from my appointment.”

Abire’s farewell message, shared on the Governor’s media platform, highlights the bonds formed within a small team and the challenges faced during their tenure.

According to him, “We were just three in the media team. We bonded,” he noted, expressing gratitude for the support he received during this period.

“Sometimes, we faced the frenzy. We shouted where necessary. We kicked. But love continued..

“Tonight, I am emotional to tell us that I have decided to quit as Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor of Ondo State,” he stated, adding, “I will miss all of us, but I am still a click away.”

Abire, on his part, shared an update on his Facebook page, expressing that he had communicated his exit plans to Aiyedatiwa, who prayed for him and sanctioned his decision.

“In our six minutes conversation, he wished me well in my new assignment,” he wrote.
