NDPYLF Gives Rivers State Lawmakers 7-Day Ultimatum to Account for ₦350m Constituency Funds
The Niger Delta Progressive Youths Leadership Foundation (NDPYLF), Rivers State Chapter, has issued a seven-day ultimatum to Rivers State lawmakers led by the Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule, demanding a public account of an alleged ₦350 million received in 2025 for constituency projects.
In a statement signed by the Rivers State Chairman of the group, Comrade Isaiah Johnson Obiechere, NDPYLF expressed concern that despite the huge funds allocated for constituency projects, there is little to no visible evidence of projects executed across many constituencies in the state.
According to the group, the situation raises serious questions about transparency, accountability, and respect for the people who elected the lawmakers.
NDPYLF demanded that within seven days, the affected lawmakers should:
• Publicly disclose the amount received by each constituency
• Provide a detailed breakdown of projects executed or currently ongoing
• Clearly state the locations and present status of all such projects
• Make the information available to constituents and the general public
The group warned that failure to comply with the ultimatum would leave it with no option but to embark on lawful actions, including public protests, petitions to relevant anti-corruption agencies, and sustained advocacy to ensure accountability.
NDPYLF reaffirmed its commitment to promoting good governance, transparency, and youth-driven leadership across the Niger Delta region.
