Lagos Police Arrest TikToker ‘Peller’ Over Reckless Driving During Livestream


The Lagos State Police Command has arrested social media influencer Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, following a viral video showing him driving recklessly during a livestream, which resulted in a serious road crash. The police described his actions as “s+++dal” and capable of end@ngering other road users.


According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the incident occurred on Sunday, December 14, 2025. Peller was taken into custody for further investigation after the video circulated widely on social media. The police said he was driving at dangerous speeds during the broadcast, leading to a motor accident that posed serious risks to himself and innocent members of the public. “His action constitutes a deliberate attempt to end it all and enda+gered the life of other innocent people,” the statement noted.


The case is being investigated by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), and the suspect will be charged to court once investigations conclude. Findings from the probe will be made public.


Reacting to the incident, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, warned social media influencers and content creators against using online platforms to engage in or promote reckless or unlawful acts. “Such lawlessness will not be tolerated, and the full weight of the law will be applied on any offender,” the statement said. The police also urged all road users to comply strictly with traffic regulations, emphasizing their commitment to public safety and peace.
