Dele Momodu Reacts to White House Report Listing Nigeria for U.S. Visa Restrictions
Veteran journalist and ADC Chieftain, Chief Dele Momodu, has reacted to a report attributed to the White House which listed Nigeria among countries facing restrictions on entry into the United States.
Momodu expressed his reaction in a post shared on his verified Instagram account, @delemomoduovation, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
The post featured excerpts from a document under a section labelled “(j) Nigeria,” outlining security concerns and visa overstay data cited as reasons for proposed or existing restrictions affecting Nigerian nationals.
One portion of the document stated, “Radical Islamic terrorist groups such as the Boko Haram and the Islamic State operate freely in certain parts of Nigeria, which creates substantial screening and vetting difficulties.”
The document further referenced visa compliance statistics, noting, “According to the Overstay Report, Nigeria has a B-1/B-2 visa overstay rate of 5.56 percent and an F, M, and J visa overstay rate of 11.90 percent.”
Another section of the report outlined entry restrictions, stating, “The entry into the United States of nationals of Nigeria as immigrants, and as nonimmigrants on B-1, B-2, B-1/B-2, F, M, and J visas, are hereby suspended.”
It also addressed visa validity limits, adding, “Consular officers shall reduce the validity for any other nonimmigrant visa issued to nationals of Nigeria to the extent permitted by the law.”
Reacting to the content of the report, Momodu expressed concern over its implications for Nigerians. In his caption, he wrote, “Very very SAD and UNFORTUNATE…”
He continued, “Do our rulers really care…” Momodu further stated, “Elections are more important than taking care of the great, wonderful and brilliant people that make up NIGERIA…”
