ADC:I Doubt If There’s Anybody That Can Struggle With Atiku And Getting The Ticket For 2027 - Goje

Senator Danjuma Goje, a prominent Nigerian lawmaker, has stated that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar holds a commanding position within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and is unlikely to face any serious opposition for the party’s 2027 presidential ticket.

In a video interview shared by VOICE OF THE PEOPLE TV Senator Goje said that while the ADC has gained considerable momentum in recent times, it is still grappling with internal disputes.

He explained that the party’s internal structure remains unsettled due to lingering tensions between long-standing members and the influx of new political actors who joined en masse.

He noted that leadership disagreements have not yet been fully resolved, and some legal challenges remain pending.

Senator Goje said that despite these internal frictions, the presence of Atiku Abubakar has significantly shifted the balance of power within the ADC.

He emphasized that Atiku’s political stature, experience, and determination to secure the party’s presidential nomination place him far ahead of any potential contenders.

According to him, no other figure in the party currently possesses the influence or support base to challenge Atiku’s ambition.

Senator Goje said that although the ADC is not entirely free from internal conflict, the momentum behind Atiku’s candidacy is strong enough to overshadow the party’s internal divisions.

He believes that Atiku’s dominance could unify the party and position it as a formidable force ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He said, "The fact that I said the ADC has some level of strength as at this point does not mean that ADC is rancor free. Because the people they met on ground before coming en masse to ADC, they are still there. And at the last count, I have not heard any reports that those suit have been withdrawn challenging the leadership they imposed on that party. But the optics looks bright that may be with the stature of an Atiku who is bent on clinching the ticket. And I doubt if there's anybody in that party that can struggle with him and getting the ticket of ADC for 2027 Election."
