16 Rivers assembly members, speaker leave PDP for APC

Sixteen members of the Rivers house of assembly have announced their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Martins Awaewhule, speaker of the assembly, announced the defection during plenary on Friday.

Amaewhule also disclosed that he would be joining the lawmakers out of the PDP.
