Rivers Election:The APC also joined another Party when Wike took them to court to bar them-Umar Sani

In a recent interview with Arise Television, Umar Sani, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), spoke about the political crisis in Rivers State involving Governor Siminalayi Fubara and former governor Nyesom Wike.

The issue revolves around some loyal supporters of Governor Fubara leaving the PDP to join the Action People’s Party (APP) in order to contest in upcoming local elections. This move was mocked by Wike and his allies.

Umar Sani explained that this is not the first time something like this has happened in Rivers Politics. He compared it to when the All Progressives Congress (APC) had to rely on another party because Wike took them to court, preventing them from running in elections. Sani believes that Fubara is using this strategy to build his own political structure. By supporting the APP, a smaller party, Fubara wants to show that he has the people’s support, regardless of the political platform.

Sani said this is Fubara’s way of sending a message to Wike and the PDP, showing that he can win elections with the people on his side, even outside the PDP. This move highlights a power struggle within the party and is also a way for Fubara to strengthen his position in Rivers politics.
