We Have Decided To Tell Kingibe Bye-Bye, Don’t Abuse Her O, Just Say Sister, Aunty Bye-Bye -Wike
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that Senator Ireti Kingibe will lose her seat in the Senate in the 2027 general elections, claiming that Abuja residents are ready to vote her out.
This was contained in a report published by DAILY POST Nigeria on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Wike made the statement on Monday during a project commissioning in Abuja, where he expressed confidence that the senator would not secure another term at the National Assembly.
Wike said residents of the Federal Capital Territory were dissatisfied with Kingibe’s performance and had decided to elect a new senator to represent them in 2027. He maintained that the people were no longer willing to continue with her representation.
He further accused Kingibe of failing to attract projects to the FCT, alleging that she had not made sufficient contributions to the development of Abuja. He claimed that the senator had concentrated more on criticising him through social media and television appearances rather than working with his administration.
In his words, “We have decided to tell Ireti Kingibe bye-bye. Don’t abuse her o, just say sister, aunty bye-bye.”
The disagreement between Wike and Kingibe dates back to 2023, with both politicians having different positions on the administration and development of the Federal Capital Territory. The minister’s latest comments have further intensified their political disagreement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
