Patience Told Me, ‘She Has Decided To Be With him.’ Today, She & Wike Are Not On Speaking Terms-Sara-Igbe

In an interview on Symfoni TV on Monday, November 2, 2026, Anabs Sara-Igbe, a Niger Delta activist and prominent political leader from Rivers State, spoke about the political relationship between former First Lady Patience Jonathan and Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

Sara-Igbe recalled a conversation in which he claimed Patience Jonathan told him that Wike had decided to align himself with a particular political figure. He said he laughed at the time but now believes subsequent developments have changed the relationship between the former first lady and Wike.

Speaking during the interview, Sara-Igbe stated, “Patience Jonathan told me, ‘He has decided to be with him.’ Today, she and Wike are not on speaking terms.” He made the statement while discussing political relationships and disagreements involving influential figures in Rivers State.

The activist’s account highlighted the changing nature of political alliances, particularly among individuals who have previously worked together or maintained relationships within the same political circles.

Patience Jonathan, Nigeria’s former First Lady, has remained a prominent political figure in Rivers State and the wider Niger Delta region. Wike also continues to play an influential role in the state’s political affairs, despite serving in the Federal Government as Minister of the FCT.

Sara-Igbe’s remarks come amid continuing political disagreements involving Wike and Governor Siminalayi Fubara, which have generated different reactions among political stakeholders in the state.
