You Can’t Say You’re Grateful to God and Your Money Is Not Involved, Your Thanksgiving Offering Should Reflect Your Status—Pastor Korede Komaiya
Pastor Korede Komaiya has said Christians should not claim to be grateful to God while refusing to give from their substance as part of their thanksgiving.
Speaking to his congregation, Komaiya described giving as a biblical ordinance, stressing that thanksgiving to God should not be done empty-handed.
“It’s important for you to note this reality. Note this reality and note it very well. God is the King of the whole earth,” he said.
The pastor explained that expressing gratitude to God should involve a person’s material substance, insisting, “It is dishonoring to say you are grateful and your substance is not involved.”
“You can’t thank God empty-handed. It’s a biblical ordinance. You cannot thank God without your substance,” he stated.
Komaiya also said people should not determine their thanksgiving offering solely based on what they personally want to give, arguing that the offering should correspond with their financial standing.
“You can’t just give what you like. You can’t just give anything you want,” he said.
Using an example, he noted that someone who owns two cars, a house, has a good job and earns millions should not give the same amount as someone who is a tenant.
“Everybody note this. If you are grateful, your thanksgiving offering should reflect your status,” he added.
The pastor further revealed that he had started giving his own thanksgiving offering in millions, describing his gratitude for how far he had come.
“I started giving my thanksgiving offering in millions since yesterday,” he said.
Reflecting on his journey, Komaiya asked, “How did I get to this place, O Lord? Who born me. How did I get to this global realm?”
