You Can Ins¥lt And verbally Att@ck me And Still Go To sleep peacefully. I won’t punish you for expressing your views — Pres. Tinubu assures Nigerians

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday assured Nigerians that they can criticise, ins¥lt or verbally att@ck him without facing consequences from his administration.

Tinubu also told Nigerians who speak against him or att@ck his government that they can sleep peacefully at night despite their criticisms and att@cks, stressing that his administration would not punish them for expressing their views.

The President, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, George Akume, made the remarks in Abuja while speaking at the 100th anniversary celebration of the Daily Times of Nigeria Limited.

He said the administration’s willingness to tolerate criticism is a central part of its Renewed Hope Agenda, as well as its commitment to protecting and promoting press freedom.

“Let us admit that under this government, you can ins¥lt and att@ck the President and still go to bed without midnight troubles. This philosophy lies at the heart of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“The task of national renewal requires the courage to understand where we have come from and confront what we have laid back and made difficult, necessary choices, but where we must go,” he said.
