Viral 80s Photos AI Trend Helps Police Trace Woman 45 Years After Allegedly Ste@ling Gold Chain In India


A woman who allegedly st%le a gold chain from a jewellery shop in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, India, about 45 years ago has reportedly been traced after the shop owner recognised her in an AI-generated photo shared on social media.


According to reports, the woman allegedly entered the jewellery shop in the early 1980s, st%le the gold chain and fled. Despite police efforts, she could not be traced and reportedly later changed her name and moved to another location, where she lived under a different identity.


The case remained unresolved for decades until the woman recently participated in a viral social media trend where users create AI-generated photographs showing how they might have looked in the 1980s.


The jewellery shop owner reportedly came across her post and recognised her facial features, believing she was the same woman involved in the theft. He alerted the police, who investigated and eventually located and questioned her.


During questioning, the woman reportedly admitted to being involved in the theft.
