Kano Hisbah Arrests 27-Year-Old TikTok Creator Over Videos Showing Him Hugging, Carrying And Bathing With Women

The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested TikTok content creator Ukasha Yahaya, popularly known as UK International, over videos showing him hugging, carrying, swimming and bathing with women.

Hisbah Deputy Commander General, Dr Mujahid Aminuddeen, confirmed the arrest on Thursday, saying Yahaya was apprehended after the board received intelligence that he had entered Kano.

The 27-year-old, who is from Gusau, Zamfara State, but resides in Abuja, is being detained as investigations continue. He reportedly admitted during questioning that he could not remember how many videos he had produced featuring women.

Yahaya said some of his videos had recorded between one million and three million views, while explaining that the women approached him because of his work as a content creator.

He also admitted that his mother and others had repeatedly warned him against producing such content. Asked if he could involve his sisters in his videos he said his sisters are all married and he had been considering quitting the type of content as he prepares for marriage. Yahaya apologised and promised not to repeat the behaviour.

Aminuddeen said Yahaya would be charged to court after the investigation and warned youths against producing TikTok content that violates the moral and religious standards enforced by the Hisbah Board.
