Yinka Quadri Breaks Down In Tears As Ogogo Is Buried In llaro
Veteran Nollywood actor, Yinka Quadri, could not hold back his tears on Monday as his longtime colleague, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, was laid to rest in Ilaro, Ogun State.
Orange reports that Quadri was among the numerous actors, filmmakers, family members and sympathisers who gathered in the ancient town to bid farewell to the late Yoruba film star.
The veteran actor shared a close relationship with Hassan and was among his colleagues who supported him and his family during his illness.
Other prominent Nollywood personalities at the burial included veteran actor Jide Kosoko, actresses Ireti Osayemi and Femi Adebayo, alongside several other colleagues and friends of the deceased.
Naija News recall that Hassan died at about 3 pm on Sunday at the age of 66, according to an announcement made by Kosoko on Instagram.
Following his death, Kosoko had announced that the actor’s remains would be taken to his hometown, Ilaro, where a lying-in-state ceremony would precede his burial.
The funeral arrangements subsequently drew colleagues and sympathisers to the town on Monday.
Ogogo’s death came shortly after his daughters, Kaira and Lima Taiwo, appealed publicly for assistance in securing medical treatment for their father.
The actor had been battling stage-four cancer, with his family seeking urgent intervention as his condition deteriorated.
Kaira had earlier disclosed that doctors treating the actor could no longer administer chemotherapy because of the severity of his condition.
