Wike: Rivers People Are Tired Of Him, The Only Way He Intends To Win Is To Write Results-Membere
Sopriala Membere, a prominent member of the ADC and part of the CRA Network, stated that people in Rivers State are no longer supportive of the political reach of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), asserting that the former governor can no longer count on widespread public backing in the state.
In an interview aired on Trust TV on Thursday, August 6, 2026, Membere contrasted Wike’s influence with that of former Rivers Governor Rotimi Amaechi, emphasizing a notable shift in local political sentiment. He contended that while Wike remains visible on the national stage, his support among Rivers residents has significantly eroded.
Membere asserted, “The people of Rivers have had enough of him. The reality is, the only way the FCT minister expects to win is by manipulating election outcomes.”
He further claimed that Wike’s political standing has weakened over time, suggesting the minister would face serious challenges winning any credible, transparent election in Rivers State. Membere stressed that the actual political climate in the region contradicts the image of strong support promoted by Wike’s allies.
