Three Sisters D+e After Boat Capsizes At Tiga Dam In Kano State
Three sisters have d+ed after the boat they were travelling in capsized at Tiga Dam in Tudunwada Local Government Area of Kano State.
The victims, who hailed from Yalwan Rugu-Rugu village, were identified as Murjanatu, Atikatu and Bilkisu, popularly known as Amira.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, according to a statement by the Chairman of Tudunwada Local Government Area and Chairperson of the Kano State Local Government Chairmen’s Association, Hajiya Sa’adatu Salisu Soja Maijama’a.
Meanwhile, the Kano State Fire Service said it had not received any official report about the incident.
The service’s spokesperson, Saminu Abdullahi, said officials only became aware of the tragedy after seeing the local government chairman’s announcement on social media.
According to him, neither the Tudun Wada Local Government authorities nor members of the community had formally contacted the Fire Service. He added that the agency would issue an official statement and take appropriate action once it receives formal information about the incident.
