If You Like, Gather Jesus 12 Disciples-Davido Reacts As Akpabio, APC Govs Storm Osun For Mega Rally
Afrobeats artist David Adeleke, widely recognized as Davido, has responded to the arrival of Senate President Godswill Akpabio along with numerous governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State just before the party’s concluding campaign event in Osogbo.
Davido made his remark on Thursday after Gboyega Oyetola, the former Governor of Osun State and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, posted a message welcoming the APC leaders to the region.
Oyetola confirmed the presence of Akpabio, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, and other senior members of the party for the APC’s big rally.
This gathering is anticipated to be the last significant event of the party’s campaign before the residents of Osun cast their votes on Saturday.
As he greeted the party officials, Oyetola expressed hope that the rally would be both peaceful and productive.
He stated, “It is a joy to welcome the Senate President, His Excellency Godswill Akpabio; Governor Hope Uzodimma; Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa; Governor Uba Sani; other respected Governors, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; party leaders, stakeholders, and other notable guests to Osun State for the APC Governorship Campaign Mega Rally in Osogbo.
“As members and supporters of the APC family gather in Osogbo, we are eager for a peaceful, lively, and successful campaign event.
“Welcome to Osun State.”
Davido replied by seemingly downplaying the APC’s extensive political organization, implying that the attendance of many prominent leaders would not stop the party from losing the election.
The singer remarked, “No matter how you gather Jesus’ 12 disciples, you will still lose for the third time!”
The Yoruba phrase “o ma LULE” is commonly interpreted to mean “you will still lose,” suggesting that Davido predicts another defeat for the APC at the polls.
He has openly supported his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who is aiming for re-election.
