“If Tinubu Thinks The PCC Will Change The Minds Of Nigerians Towards Him, It’s A Pure Lie-Ayodele

According to a report published by Daily Post on Friday, August 28, 2026, Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has cautioned the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu against becoming overly confident about their chances of winning the 2027 presidential election.

Ayodele warned that excessive optimism within the ruling party could become a significant disadvantage as political activities intensify ahead of the election. He advised the President and members of the APC not to take public support for granted or assume that Nigerians would automatically vote to retain the current administration.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric said complacency could ultimately undermine the party’s electoral prospects. He argued that the government would need to respond effectively to the difficulties confronting citizens if it hoped to maintain widespread support.

Ayodele further predicted that many Nigerians could vote against Tinubu if the administration fails to address pressing economic and social challenges before the election. He said the extent of public dissatisfaction could surprise the APC if the government does not take meaningful action ahead of the polls.

The religious leader also questioned the ability of the Presidential Campaign Council to significantly influence voters if the major problems affecting Nigerians remain unresolved. According to him, political mobilisation and campaign activities would have limited value if citizens did not experience noticeable improvements in their daily lives.

He consequently called on President Tinubu to introduce measures aimed at reducing the hardships faced by Nigerians before the 2027 campaign season begins. He stressed that improving living conditions and responding to citizens’ concerns would be crucial to the administration’s efforts to secure another term.

Ayodele maintained that the government should not depend entirely on political structures, campaign officials or influential individuals to secure electoral support. Instead, he said, tangible results would be necessary to convince Nigerians.

He stated, “If President Tinubu thinks the presidential campaign council will change the minds of Nigerians towards him, it’s a pure lie. The people in the committee cannot do anything for the President; there is no individual that can change the mind of Nigerians.”

The cleric warned that failure to tackle the country's challenges could result in substantial opposition to Tinubu at the ballot box in 2027.
