I Invested Over $100,000 in a Real Estate Company’s Offer in 2021; They Promised Me 30% ROI, But I Never Got any Property From Them Till Today — Skitmaker Brain Jotter Recounts Sad Ordeal

Brain Jotter has recounted how he allegedly lost over ₦60 million after investing in a real estate scheme in 2021. He said it was almost all his savings at the time.

He said he began earning more from YouTube after surviving on ₦25,000 to ₦40,000 monthly. As his income increased, he became interested in investing.

According to him, he invested with Property Matchmakers after an opportunity at Beechwood Estate. The investment promised a 30 per cent return after 12 months, with land as collateral. He received a deed of assignment but did not involve a lawyer because he trusted the company.

Brain Jotter said the investment represented all his savings. He had accumulated over $100,000, which he converted to naira, resulting in an investment of about ₦60-something million.

He did not immediately demand returns because he continued working. By 2023 and 2024, he became interested in developing the land given as collateral.

He claimed the company repeatedly asked him to wait, citing survey approval and the coastal road project. By 2025, he became suspicious and demanded either his property or a refund.

According to him, the company offered to refund his investment but proposed deducting 15 per cent as a penalty, despite the promised 30 per cent ROI.

The comedian lamented the decline in the value of his money, noting that ₦60–70 million could have bought a good house in 2021 but is worth less today.

He said he accepted the refund because he did not feel able to pursue a legal battle. However, the company allegedly sent him a payment plan to repay the money in instalments while still applying the 15 per cent deduction.

Brain Jotter expressed shock that the company was still developing and selling properties in Lekki Phase One while he struggled to recover his investment.
