Amanyanabo-Elect of Opobo, King Charles Invites Goodluck Jonathan to Coronation

The Amanyanabo-elect of Opobo Kingdom, King Charles Douglas Mac-Pepple Jaja, has formally invited former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to his coronation scheduled for September 26.

The invitation was extended when the Amanyanabo-elect and members of the Opobo Council of Alapu visited Jonathan at his residence in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. 

Jonathan, whom the monarch described as an illustrious Ijaw Son and a foremost Nigerian leader, accepted the invitation.

The former president congratulated King Charles Douglas Mac-Pepple Jaja and acknowledged the significance of the Opobo throne to the history of the Niger Delta.

Jonathan also described Opobo Kingdom as a historic kingdom with significant contributions to Nigeria’s history, saying, “Opobo Kingdom is a place with history, and this visit is a big honour.”
