Amaechi Served 8 Years As Speaker 8 As Governor 8 As Minister None In South South Can Match —Okonkwo

Kenneth Okonkwo, spokesman for the Atiku Abubakar campaign, has described Rotimi Amaechi as the most qualified politician in the South-South, citing an unbroken 24-year record in public office.

Speaking on Symfoni Television, Okonkwo said Amaechi served eight years as Speaker, eight years as governor and eight years as minister, giving him experience at both the legislative and executive levels that no one else in the region can match.

He argued that Nigeria needs leaders with such institutional memory to recover from the current administration.

In Okonkwo’s words: “Throughout the whole of the South-South, there is nobody with the kind of qualification Amaechi has. He was Speaker of the House of Assembly for eight years, governor for eight years, and minister for eight years. Twenty-four years, unbroken public service, at the state and national level, at the legislative and executive levels. Nobody has this kind of experience. Amaechi is one of the people who can help us navigate out of the incompetence and corruption of the APC government.”
