I Was The One Who Exposed Gbajabiamila When He Stole $25,000 From A Client In Georgia-Sowore Alleges
According to a video shared on SYMFONI’s official YouTube channel on Monday, July 6, 2026, human rights activist and African Action Congress (AAC) leader Omoyele Sowore addressed journalists outside a court, where he revisited past allegations concerning Femi Gbajabiamila’s legal career.
Sowore alleged that he was the journalist who uncovered an incident in which Gbajabiamila allegedly took $25,000 from a client in Atlanta, Georgia, while working as a lawyer. He further claimed that the alleged misconduct led to the revocation of Gbajabiamila’s legal licence.
He argued that the allegations remain part of the public record and should be preserved as part of the historical record involving public office holders.
Sowore also claimed that after publishing the report, a prominent public figure approached him with a request to take down the story. According to him, he rejected the request because he believed it was his duty to preserve historical records rather than remove them.
He added that if he had agreed to delete the report, many Nigerians would never have become aware of what he described as Gbajabiamila’s past actions.
The activist further alleged that his repeated arrests and legal challenges were consequences of his continued efforts to speak out against alleged corruption. He insisted that he would remain committed to challenging individuals he believes are acting against the interests of Nigerians.
Concluding his remarks, Sowore emphasised the role of citizens in holding leaders accountable. He encouraged Nigerians to continue resisting intimidation and to remain outspoken in demanding transparency and accountability from public officials.
