G¥nmen Abd¥ct 60-Year-Old School Headmaster in Oyo State, Demand ₦30 Million Ransom
G¥nmen have reportedly abd¥cted a 60-year-old headmaster, Kolawale Mathew Owoade, popularly known as Onaiye, and are demanding ₦30 million for his release.
The victim, who heads Nomadic Basic School, Igbojaye, in Budo Aare, Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State, was reportedly kidn@pped on Saturday, July 11, 2026, between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. while returning home from his farm.
According to his son, Abiola Owoade, the kidn@ppers contacted the family shortly after the abd¥ction using the victim’s mobile phone and demanded a ₦30 million ransom.
He also disclosed that a search team recovered his father’s abandoned motorcycle in a bush around 8:20 a.m. on Sunday, July 12.
Abiola appealed to the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Amotekun, hunters, vigilantes, and other security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue his father safely.
The incident has reportedly left the victim’s colleagues and members of the education community in Itesiwaju Local Government saddened.
Confirming the incident on Monday, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, said the victim was abducted at his farm in Budo Aare. He added that security operatives are working to rescue him unharmed and bring those responsible to justice.
