Delta State Governor, Oborevwori Approves ₦2 Million Grant for Delta Returnees from South Africa

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved a welfare package for Deltans who returned from South Africa following recent xenophobic attacks.

The package includes a ₦2 million grant for each affected family, a ₦200,000 monthly stipend for each returnee, and ₦300,000 monthly for every affected family from August 2026 to May 29, 2027.

The Governor further directed that all returnees receive free medical care, trauma counselling, and psychosocial support to help them recover and rebuild their lives.
