Wike: He Never Responded to Anything | Said; Except Sending Me A Bag of Rice Once — Ireti Kingibe
Senator Ireti Kingibe has opened up about her strained relationship with the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, revealing that the poor communication between them has made it difficult for her to effectively represent the people of Abuja.
Speaking during an interview on Arise TV, the senator explained that because she and Wike do not have a working relationship, she has been unable to raise important issues affecting FCT residents directly with him. She gave an example of how she visited the government hospital in Wuse and discovered that the facility was seriously lacking in medical equipment, a problem she would have brought to Wike’s attention if they were on speaking terms.
Kingibe noted that in a government where the minister controls most of what happens in the FCT, a senator’s ability to speak directly with him is critical to getting things done for the people.
She revealed that she had made several attempts to reach Wike, including writing letters, making phone calls, and sending text messages, but that he never responded to any of them.
According to her, the only form of communication she ever received from the minister was a bag of rice, which she described as the one and only thing he sent to her directly.
Kingibe admitted she does not know how to fix the broken relationship but said she remains open to suggestions.
In his words, “He never responded to anything I said. so at least I don’t have any letters directly from him except once sending me a bag of rice something like that’”
