FUPRE Freshman D+es After Alleged St@bbing by Elder Brother Following Hostel Dispute
A 100-level student of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), has d+ed after allegedly being st@bbed multiple times by his elder brother during a vi%lent altercation on campus.
The Vice-Chancellor of FUPRE, Professor Ezekiel Agbalagba, confirmed that the student lost his life following the alleged st@bbing incident.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred around 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Hostel C. According to sources, the brothers had been involved in a longstanding disagreement which escalated over a dispute said to be connected to a pair of bathroom slippers.
The elder brother, identified as Joshua, allegedly invited the victim to the rear section of the hostel to settle the matter. However, the confrontation reportedly turned d+adly when he allegedly att@cked his younger brother with a dagger, inflicting multiple st@b wo¥nds before fleeing the scene.
Despite sustaining severe inj¥ries, the student reportedly managed to crawl to another part of the hostel, where fellow students found him and raised the alarm. Images circulating online showed the victim lying in a pool of blood while receiving assistance from other students.
Confirming the incident, FUPRE Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ezekiel Agbalagba, described the development as tragic. He stated that efforts were underway to locate the suspect and hand him over to the police.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding between two brothers from the same family. He added that the university is actively searching for the suspect and assured students and parents that the campus remained calm and under control.
