Wike Vows Never to Work With Atiku Group: “We Will Not Accept Them even if You Ask Me 20 Times.”

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has once again stirred the Nigerian political landscape with a firm declaration regarding the internal fractures within the Peoples Democratic Party.

His latest remarks signal a definitive closure to any reconciliation efforts with certain internal rivals. Wike maintains that the party is now unified under a singular leadership, effectively dismissing all previous factions.

According to a video posted on the Official YouTube channel of Arise News, while discussing the recent Supreme Court judgment on the party leadership, Nyesom Wike addressed the possibility of an alliance. He stated, “I can tell you that, even if you want me to say it more than 20 times, we will not accept the Atiku group saying that they want to join us.”

The Minister emphasized that the primary concern for his wing of the party remains the quality of the opposition they provide. He argued that the group led by the former Vice President represents a brand of politics that is fundamentally destructive to the nation. Wike insisted that working with such a group would be impossible given their current approach and their recent political history.

The political heavyweight further explained that the current leadership under Abraham has been fully validated by the highest court in the land. This legal victory, according to him, renders any other claims to party authority completely void and illegal. He suggested that those who left for other parties like the ADC are now facing significant problems and may find their hopes completely bashed.

In his concluding remarks, Wike reiterated that the party will not be forced into a broad based opposition coalition just for the sake of it. He maintained that the doors remain firmly shut against those he considers electoral liabilities or agents of destruction. The struggle for the soul of the main opposition party appears to have reached a very tense, final turning point.
