Umar Ardor Reveals What Broke The Relationship Between Jonathan And Tinubu
Former APC leader and head of the All Democratic Alliance, Umar Ardor, has shared his thoughts on what he thinks led to the decline in the connection between former President Goodluck Jonathan and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a conversation during an interview on Arise News, Ardor mentioned that the ousting of former President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Ayo Salami, resulted in a significant political divide between Jonathan and Tinubu. He believes this event undermined the relationship they once maintained and shifted the trajectory of their political ties.
Ardor also revealed that following this incident, he had a discussion with former President Muhammadu Buhari, suggesting that he should reach out to Tinubu with a proposal for him to serve as his vice-presidential candidate. He clarified that this strategy was intended to create a more robust political partnership that could effectively compete against the ruling party at that time.
He stated:
“The removal of Salami severed the ties between President Jonathan and Bola Tinubu, and then I recommended that Buhari should approach Tinubu and offer him the vice presidency to establish what I termed ACPC, Action Congress for Progressive Change.”
