Oyo abd¥ction: Do not protest. It will only fuel the t+rrorists’ ego and complicate things — Gov. Makinde

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appealed to families and residents not to stage protests over the recent abd¥ction of schoolchildren in the state, warning that such actions could worsen the situation and embolden the k+dnappers.

Speaking on the incident, Makinde said the state was facing a harsh security reality, stressing that t+rrorists and bandits were already operating d@ngeously close to communities.

“I told the people our reality. Our reality is that the bandits, the t+rrorists, are here within our doorstep,” the governor said.

He urged relatives of the abd¥ctd children to remain calm and prayerful, insisting that public protests would only “fuel the ego” of the k+dnappers.

“This is not the time for protest. The t+rroists and the bandits are not normal people. If they had a reasonable head, they won’t be in the bush doing what they are doing. So if we’re protesting, we’re fueling their ego,” he stated.

The governor added that while security efforts were ongoing behind the scenes, citizens should continue praying for the abd¥ctors’ hearts to change.

“The heart of the bandit is also in the hands of God. Let us pray to God that He touches their hearts while we are doing our best,” Makinde added.
