Nigerian-American M¥rder Suspect Mysteriously Found D+ad in Jail
A Nigerian-American citizen, Olaolukitan Adon Abel, has d+ed in custody days after his arrest over an illegal fir£arm linked to the k+lling of a U.S. government employee in Decatur, Georgia.
According to the U.S. Attorney for Northern District of Georgia, Theodore Hertzberg, the case began on April 13, 2026, when police responded to a h@micide in a residential area.
The victim was later identified by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as staff member Lauren Bullis. A loaded 9mm p+stol and shell casings were recovered at the scene.
Investigators traced the weapon to Damon Marquis Yarns, who allegedly bought it from a licensed dealer in Atlanta. During questioning, Yarns reportedly admitted he acted on behalf of a man he knew as “Abdul or Obie,” later identified as Abel. He said Abel funded the purchase and collected the g¥n afterward.
Authorities later stopped Abel’s vehicle, where matching amm¥nition was found. He was arrested and charged with multiple offences, including m¥rder, aggravated a§§ault, and illegal f+rearm possession. Prosecutors also noted a prior conviction involving a§§ault on a police officer.
However, in a shocking twist reported by The New York Post, Abel was found unresponsive in his jail cell on April 21. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced d+ad. Officials say no foul play is suspected, though the cause of d+ath remains unknown.
