Ex-Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax Sh+ots Wife D+ad, Takes Own Life Amid Messy Divorce

Former Justin Fairfax fatally sh+t his wife, Cerina, inside their home before taking his own life, police confirmed on Thursday.

According to Fairfax County Police Department Chief Kevin Davis, the tragic incident stemmed from an ongoing domestic dispute linked to what he described as a “complicated, messy divorce.”

Police had previously responded to a domestic call at the couple’s home in Annandale, Virginia in January, though no charges were filed at the time. Authorities said the couple had separated but were still living together in the same house.

Chief Davis revealed that Fairfax had recently been served legal paperwork related to an upcoming court proceeding, which investigators believe may have triggered the fatal incident.

The sh+oting reportedly occurred around midnight while the couple’s two teenage children were inside the home. Their eldest son placed the emergency call to 911 after the incident.

Describing the situation as deeply distressing, Davis noted that it was “a tra¥matic event” for the children to experience.

Justin Fairfax served as Lieutenant Governor of Virginia from 2018 to 2022.
