Man nabbed for alleged m¥rder of girlfriend in Cross River State following infidelity claims

 


Police authorities in Cross River State have taken into custody a 35-year-old man, Malime Ejor, for allegedly k+lling his girlfriend, Moshie Igu, over claims that she was unfaithful.


According to reports, the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, March 28, at about 6 a.m., on a farm in Nwang Village, Ekajuk community, in Ogoja Local Government Area of the state.


A resident of the community, who chose to remain anonymous, disclosed that the couple got into a serious argument over allegations of extramarital affairs. The confrontation reportedly turned vi%lent, with the suspect allegedly att@cking the woman, which resulted in her de@th.


“We heard loud noise and shouting, so we rushed there, but by the time we arrived, he had already begun using a machete on her. There was nothing we could do immediately. Our youths later subdued him and handed him over to security operatives,” the witness recounted.


While confirming the incident on Sunday, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force in the state, ASP Sunday Eitokpah, said investigations have begun and assured that justice will be carried out.
