Fubara’s Ex-Chief Of Staff Denies ADC Deputy Governorship Ambition, Disowns Campaign Posters

Former Chief of Staff to Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie, has dismissed as false and mischievous the campaign posters circulating on social media suggesting he is eyeing the deputy governorship position under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a statement issued on Saturday, March 28, 2026, Ehie described the posters as a desperate and calculated act of political propaganda aimed at misleading the public and creating unnecessary tension in the state’s political space.

He said the materials falsely portray him as being part of a purported 2027 political arrangement to “free Rivers from the hands of one man” on the ADC platform, stressing that he has no such ambition or alignment.

The former Chief of Staff reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to Governor Fubara, insisting that he remains a committed member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and fully supports the current administration.

Ehie further stated that he is prepared to make necessary sacrifices in backing the Governor’s decisions, particularly those geared toward sustaining peace, stability, and development in Rivers State.

He urged the public to disregard the misleading posters, emphasizing that they are the handiwork of individuals seeking to distort facts and foment discord for political gain.

Ehie said,“The peace is worth it, so any attempt to portray me otherwise is a blatant distortion of facts and a reflection of the desperation of those who have lost political relevance and public trust.”

“The inclusion of my name alongside that on the said poster is entirely unauthorized and misleading, and should be disregarded by all discerning citizens. I have neither endorsed nor consented to any such political arrangement, and any claim to the contrary is nothing short of political fraud.”

The former Chief of Staff maintained that Rivers State does not require rescue from imaginary enemies, stressing that the state is currently enjoying purposeful leadership, strategic governance, and a clear unity of purpose.

He urged the public to disregard the baseless posters being circulated by faceless individuals, noting that he remains focused on the collective progress and stability of Rivers State.

“The era of manipulation through false narratives is over, and the sponsors of this falsehood must understand that Rivers people are politically aware and cannot be swayed by cheap propaganda,” he said.
