Are You Now Going To Work Against An APC Gov and Tinubu In Extension? —Momodu Reacts To Wike’s Video
Veteran journalist and ADC Chieftain, Dele Momodu, has reacted to comments made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, following the circulation of a video showing the former Rivers State governor addressing supporters.
Momodu shared the video on his verified Instagram page on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, accompanied by a critical reaction to Wike’s remarks, which were delivered during a public gathering and broadcast live on television.
In the video, Wike is seen addressing a crowd while making statements about political influence, loyalty, and mandate within the state. During the speech, Wike asserted his political authority, saying, “We give instruction who to support in this state, isn’t it? Is it not?”
He questioned the actions of those who benefitted from previous political support, asking, “Have they come here to tell you thank you? Have they come here to tell you thank you?” Wike acknowledged what he described as an earlier error and indicated a resolve to correct it. “We made a mistake, but we’re here to correct the mistake,” he said.
He further claimed ownership of political legitimacy within the state, stating, “We were the original mandate people.” Wike dismissed competing claims of political support, describing them as lacking authenticity. “This one they are shouting now is artificial,” he said. Referring to sustained political advocacy since the 2023 elections, Wike remarked, “We have shouted on your mandate since 2023.”
Reacting to the video, Momodu expressed concern over the tone and implications of the remarks. In his Instagram caption, Momodu wrote, “Too much arrogance oozing out… Are you now going to work against an APC Governor and Tinubu by extension? Simple logic…”
