Wike: Nobody would put his destiny in a ship that is piloted by drunkards and mad men-Okonkwo

According to the report from SYMFONI TV, Veteran actor and political spokesperson, Kenneth Okonkwo, has issued a strongly worded reaction to the recent confrontation between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and a young naval officer identified as Ahmed Yerima. The incident, which has stirred public debate, has also reignited discussions around leadership, party discipline, and the growing internal fractures within Nigerian politics.

Okonkwo did not hold back as he questioned what he described as deep inconsistencies in the decision-making processes of political leaders. In his statement, he challenged recent choices made within the political space, asking pointedly, “how can they choose a secretary a man who comes from a faction that say they have endorsed another person to be president of Nigeria in 2027.”

According to him, such decisions only deepen existing division and make reconciliation within the party impossible. He emphasized that the internal crises were beyond repair, declaring, “it is going to be irreconcilable.”

Okonkwo further argued that the consequences of these actions extend far beyond internal politics, stressing that negative publicity erodes public confidence and credibility. Drawing a vivid analogy, he warned that no serious stakeholder would invest in a party plagued by disorder. In his words, “people will not go to buy their shares because nobody would put his destiny in a ship that is piloted by drunkards and mad men.”

His remarks come at a time when tensions remain high following the clash involving Wike and the young naval officer, an incident that has continued to draw reactions from political observers and citizens alike.

Okonkwo’s statement adds a new layer to the unfolding narrative, underlining what he sees as a pattern of instability and questionable leadership choices within the system. As public attention remains focused on the aftermath of the altercation, his comments are expected to fuel ongoing national discussions about governance, accountability, and the direction of the country’s political future.
