Gov. Zulum Declares Statewide Fasting and Prayer Over Rising Insecurity
Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has called for a day of fasting and prayer as insecurity continues to escalate across the state.
In a statewide broadcast on Saturday, Zulum said the decision was aimed at seeking divine guidance and intervention amid ongoing security challenges.
“As a people of faith, we believe our security strategies must be underpinned by prayer. I hereby declare Monday, 24th November 2025, as a Statewide Day of Fasting and Prayer for the restoration of peace in Borno State and the country,” he announced.
The governor urged all residents—irrespective of religious affiliation—to participate and pray for lasting peace and progress in both the state and Nigeria.
He added that collective fasting and prayer could strengthen communal faith and bring much-needed relief to Borno.
