Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Saturday joined dignitaries and well-wishers in Zaria, Kaduna State, to witness the turbanning of his former Vice President, Arc. Mohammed Namadi Sambo (GCON), as the Sardaunan Zazzau.
The ceremony, held at the Emir’s Palace, was conducted by His Royal Highness, Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, the Emir of Zazzau, and attracted top political figures, traditional rulers, and other distinguished Nigerians.
Dr. Jonathan, who served alongside Sambo from 2010 to 2015, described the honour as well-deserved and a testament to Sambo’s commitment to peace, unity, and development.
In his goodwill message, Jonathan said
“May this new role further deepen your bond with your people and your steadfast dedication to the peace, progress, and development of our country.”
