US: This Is Happening After Known Politician Visited US;We’ll Take Fight Back To Western Media-Bwala

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication has accused sections of the Western press of orchestrating a negative media campaign against Nigeria.

In a post shared on his official X handle, Bwala claimed that the reports being circulated were not only misleading but also part of a deliberate attempt to tarnish Nigeria’s image at a time when, according to him, the country is opening up as an attractive hub for investors.

The western fake news media, probably sponsored by foreign interests, have begun their fake news propaganda campaign against Nigeria. The aim is to present Nigeria as unfriendly for business, at a time when the nation is rapidly becoming a destination for global investors,” he wrote.

Bwala also drew attention to the timing of these publications, hinting at a connection with the recent activities of opposition figures abroad. “Is it a coincidence that this is happening after a known politician visited the US?” he asked pointedly. Although he did not mention names, the remark is widely interpreted as a swipe at Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, who recently traveled to the United States.

The presidential aide vowed that the administration would not remain silent in the face of what he described as targeted misinformation. “We would take the media fight back to them in their western fake news media outlets,” Bwala asserted.

His remarks come amid heightened political debates on Nigeria’s economic policies, with the government insisting that its reforms are designed to attract global partnerships, while critics argue that structural issues continue to discourage investment.
